Kira von Aken is a gorgeous 2 year old German Shepherd mix. The whole world has opened up to this white-bibbed lass who had been lacking in love and socialization before she came to us. So many everyday sights and sounds seem new to Kira. She expresses her gratitude in what our volunteers have dubbed “kisses by Kira” as they watch her blossom into the wonderful shepherd she is meant to be. She is sweet and somewhat shy but, once comfortable, she will lean toward your face to give you gentle kisses. Her calm personality is one that listens well and wants to please. Low-to-mid energy Kira walks well on leash. She prefers people over dogs and does not enjoy dog parks. House-trained and well mannered, Kira is good in the house and yard. She wants a family who will introduce her to new people slowly -- letting her approach them versus them approach her.
